How You Can Help Stop Illegal Dumping

The removing of our Bulky Item collection from our short list of City Services has indeed caused a problem with illegal dumping. If you wake up to find that someone has used your yard, street or neighborhood for illegal dumping, the first thing you want to do is call the 3-1-1 Action Center.

Following is a letter from Police Officer John Trainor regarding illegal dumping and the ongoing efforts to stop it from happening:

Greetings,

As you may know,  the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department has a Community Involvement Task Force in all six patrol divisions.

The one at Metro Patrol has been working on several projects, one of which is to help in the reporting of dump sites throughout Metro.

The task force has decided to go a step further and is asking you to contact me if you have a site where illegal dumping is a common occurrence, so the task force can notify the city department responsible for the cleanup.

Hopefully this will aid in a timely cleanup.  Thank you for your time and the time you spend keeping your neighborhoods a safe place.

P.O. John Trainor
